Infanta Elk Series

Today I am reviewing Infanta's Elk Series JSK in black colourway. That's pretty new thing and needs absolutely more attention, since it's lovely. But let's start from the very begining.
I was waiting for the release of this series, since I saw it on the promo pictures of one of Infanta's cropped blouses. I checked various shopping services every second day and on 8th of August 'my' dress appeared on Glitzy. I was kinda hoping it will be available in different cuts, but only high waist JSK is available. Oh well, the print still convinced me to buy it. I have chosen version black, but you can get red and blue too.

My order was sent out two weeks later, on 24th of August. Ofcourse Royal Mail wasn't in hurry, so it took them quite some time to deliver it. Hong Kong post states my item arrived in UK on 27th of August. After that tracking wasn't updated. This happens again and makes me so annoyed, but I think this is topic for seperate note. Either way- I received my small package this Friday. It was very light, so before opening, I was afraid, that they made mistake and sent me something else, hahaha.

I literally ripped grey foil, that my dress was packed onto, and saw...elks.
Dark, spooky, elks, crowded, waiting to eat your soul....errr. Yes, this is why I bought this dress- because IMO it's very spooky! I even gave this print my own name; 'satanic elks', so yeah, prolly gonna wear it on Halloween! (Can't stop thinking about this holiday- love it so much!) Mwahahaha! Review? Oh yes, let's continue with that. So the print is lovely. Yet there are two small flaws. First one is that it's bit blurry on bottom, but for me it dosn't really matter that much. When the jsk is worn, this is not noticible.
Second flaw is unmatching print on the sides.
Still, it happens very often in printed lolita dresses and skirts. Even big companies, as BtSSB have problem with that. See for example Eriko's post about Loiseau Bleu (post is in Polish but scroll down for pics)

Top of JSK is covered with branches and leafs, which are mirrored.
Straps are quite thick but it makes the dress very comfortable.
Invisible zipper is hidden on right side.
Dress has a shirring on the back (which I always forget to take a picture of, hahaha!).
This saves me, cuz recently I lost some weigh and...I think I should have purchased one size smaller.

No waist ties, thank god for that, I have to many in my 'box of things I do not use' (I mentioned I do not like them, right?)

JSK is finished with black chiffon and lace.

Bottom has second layer, made of cotton or something that looks like one.
If we're at fabric- this dress is quite interesting. I think Infanta is experimenting a bit. Swan Love JSK, that I got earlier this year, was made of Jaquard (which happend to be so-so in the end...heavy and easy to damage!) and this one is made of I've no idea what. I suspect it's some sort of mixed fabric- light as chiffon but slightly shiny. Still very nice and almost perfect for Scottish summer :)
Additionally I got a bow, that may be attached to dress.

I think it was made on rush, because I have never seen so many sticking threads from something as small. Whoops.

Let's sum things up. I was all hyped for this dress, prepared 100$ for it. I paid 79$, including shipping. yay, I have ordered by Glitzy Wonderland, as I usually do when it comes to Intanta's items. Also because this JSK apperaed on their web page almost right after it was released on Infanta's Taobao store. Service was good and fast, as always.
Dress is very nice. Cut is quite basic, but I was afer somehing simplier and more mature this time.
I am very satisfied with this purchase.

My coffee time by Lady Sloth

Lady Sloth is one of my fav lolita brands. I could write hundreds of words on how I love it and why but let's just say that their designs, quality and prices are superb!
Today I am making mini review of one of their newest creations- My coffee time JSK in color mint and made of chiffon. There is also cotton version of this available.

This specific dress was produced in colaboration with Antygea. It's also worth mentioning, that is the same artist, that's behing Miranda series (more gothic option from LS) and doll series, that's gonna be released sometime soon.

So anyway, I have made my order for this lovely piece on 25th of May. On 27th of June I got information, that dress is ready for shipping. Got it about two weeks later, cuz I requested it to be sent to my parents addy, in Poland, who were preparing package for me. That way I saved some monies on shipping. But it's also the reason why I cannot show you original packaging.
So, how does it look in real life? What is my impression? Well....IT'S AMAZING! And yes, this part requires "caps lock" button, hahaha. When I saw it, I was overhelmed with beautiful shade of mint. So vivid, so pretty. Details of print took breath away. Here is my favourite part, a mouse playing with sugar cubes.

Brand name, located on dress, is very  subtle. I may not be a fan of font chosen to mark colaboration with Antygea, but I asume she's using it everywhere and it's like her trademark.
Lace is also very cute. Small ribbons, as pictured.
Bows are decorated with coffee beans. I haven't seen anything like this before, but love the idea.

Invisible zipper is on right side. I kind of prefer the ones that are slightly bigger (like the ones that AP is using) but that's just  my taste.
Because printed chiffon is very delicate and thin, dress has a second layer in while colour. It works okay, if you wear light underwear. If you will wear, let's say black bloomers and bra..well...it might be visible.
There is shirring on the back of dress, you can easly adjust your dress to your figure.

And this is how my JSK looks like with small 'puff' (read: one, short petticoat)
Sorry about missing bows! I took them off when I got he dress and put on the shelf, then forgot about them completly. But catch seperate pic:
Same goes for waist ties. They were obviously part of the set and just as described on product page. I've also received very cute hairclip marching the dress

and additionaly a beret. Isin't it extra cute?
I tried to find some flaws, to not write only good things. to not be all 'oh' and 'ah' with love, but...besides only three (literally!) threads, sticking from the second layer of JSK, I could find, guess what, nothing. Overall, my item was just as I imagined it to be, if not better. Lady Sloth never dissapoints me, so it's well invested monies. I honestly love 'My Coffee Time series and am extremly happy with my purchase. Also gonna make a proper coord very soon, so stay tuned. If You have any questions, feel free to write them in comments section.

Stay lovely and until next note!

Infanta Swan Lake Love & Strawberry Little Chef

At the begining of the year I promised myself, that I will NOT buy any random dresses. I had intention to get hands on AP Daydream Carnival JSK and that's it. Nothing else besides that. But....I have sold few lolita items (including AP Cameo Windows) and had some extra cash. I have saved bigger part of it but couldn't resist to buy at least one dress that could replace stuff that was gone. Yup, Meshya is so bad at keeping her own resolutions. Anyway, on the rainy day of 9th of February, I have placed order for "Infanta's Swan Lake Love" JSK (color "Peacock Blue").
This one:
I used Glitzywonderland page cuz I trust them and I was always happy with their service. This time was no different. My dress was sent out after 20 days of waiting and I received it today. It was posted out as registered economic mail with tracking, so I could see my parcel "moving".

The small parcel.
Unpacking! I can see the dress. That color is..green? O_o;;;;;
Yup, the "Peacock Blue" is actually green. Or indigo at best. Beautiful but NOT BLUE.
Set of bows included
Details of already unpacked jsk

Lace and frills details
Material is definitely NOT cotton. It's a bit heavy and has a specific pattern. I suspect it's jaquard, but I am not a specialist when it comes to types of fabric. Colors are quite vivid, but slightly yellow-ish because of jaquard's original off-white shade. Also because of that, print dosn't look as sharp as it has in Tangled dress that I had before.
Whole dress in quick coord, I had planned to match this JSK with pink but it dosn't work as nice with green as it would with blue. Too much of a contrast.
Am I happy with this purchase? I have to admit I had mixed feelings when I unpacked it. I expected something else. But despite that I like the JSK and I think I will wear it with joy.

Oh, by the way, I got an extra gift from Glitzy. A pair of wristcuffs and promo code for another purchase. Dunno if I will use either XD;

Now- why is there another dress mentioned in title of this post? Well, that is because recently Infanta released another beautiful piece of cloth- a "Strawberry Little Chef". I am totally mesmerized by black and yellow version of it. I really want to buy either (but in truth both!). Just look:

Black version looks like something I would totally wear on my days off. Like a dress, which would be perfect for shopping, walks around city, parties etc.
On other hand I have always wanted yellow lolita dress. Oh dillema! Why cannot I just win like 1 million pounds and buy whatever I want (including storage space for my dresses, hahahahaha XD)

Until next note!

Wardrobe post 2016

Begining of the year means wardrobe post! I reaaaaaaaly wanted to make one year ago, but I had most of my dresses in Poland while still living in Scotland, so couldn't. This year I swore to myself, that I will do it. But then again I did not realize it will be so much work. Whoops! Still, I managed to take pictures of most (not every) pieces of my humble lolita collection and show it to you. I also realized I have more dresses than I thought and some need repair or modification, so I can wear them again (new zipper, sewing on new lace etc).
Another thing- while taking these pics, my camera's lamp got broken. I have already sent it to repair but it may take time until I will be able to take additional pics of my items or anything else D: Anyway, back to the topic. Wardrobe!

What does my wardrobe say about me?
That I am chaotic? Maybe.
That I hate green? deffinitely XD
That I am rather classic lolita than anything else? I think so.
That I prefer dresses over the skirts. Yes.
That I don't care about any specific brand? Well, I don't, tho I like Metamorphose qite a lot.

New purchases (bye bye savings) + Cinderella

I say to myself- "Agata, this needs to stop! You are not taking overtimes at your shitty workplace for new dresses (am I? O_O)". Ofcourse it never works. So I buy if I have any monies.
I got two lovely dresses.
First one is Angel Fish by Magic Tea Party. It was bought from Glitzy Wonderland. I like buying from them, they are reliable shopping service. Even when they made a mistake with my order (mentioned in some of my previous notes) they've done everything to fix it. Anyway, prepare for another blue coord with that as main piece:

I am surpprised with myself because I never really liked blue color that much. Yet I feel very comfortable in it. Not the light blue, not pastel type but dark navy and dark blue, Ultramarine- these are colors that I enjoy to wear a lot. with gold and pearl accesories they are simply unresistible.

Now the second dress- it's from older but still very pretty series by Baby the Stars Shine Bright. Bought thru Closet Child. I love mix of brown and pink, like a chocolate cake with strawberry cream. I feel I will wear it quite often. Maybe with my Alice in Wonderland bag and chocolate Bodyline shoes? We will see.

By the way- watched Cinderella movie today.Movie was nice but nothing extraordinary. Just fairytale for children. BUT! These costumes, these dresses *_* WOW! I was mesmerized with all these great designs, amount of details, choice of materials. A feast for eyes! All by amazing Sandy Powell.

Picture from Cinderella costume Exhibition (it will be held on Leicester Square in London soon! If anyone is visiting this city and have spare time- go check it out!) with Sandy Powell between her creations..

Cinderella's step mother (Kate Blanchet) and step sisters.

I hope to post next note soon. Next week I am going to Dee-con (Dundee convention) and also soon after I am attending mini Easter Meetup in Glasgow. And You know I always take lotsa pictures so...yeah. Expect spam.
