Infanta Elk Series

Today I am reviewing Infanta's Elk Series JSK in black colourway. That's pretty new thing and needs absolutely more attention, since it's lovely. But let's start from the very begining.

I was waiting for the release of this series, since I saw it on the promo pictures of one of Infanta's cropped blouses. I checked various shopping services every second day and on 8th of August 'my' dress appeared on Glitzy. I was kinda hoping it will be available in different cuts, but only high waist JSK is available. Oh well, the print still convinced me to buy it. I have chosen version black, but you can get red and blue too.

My order was sent out two weeks later, on 24th of August. Ofcourse Royal Mail wasn't in hurry, so it took them quite some time to deliver it. Hong Kong post states my item arrived in UK on 27th of August. After that tracking wasn't updated. This happens again and makes me so annoyed, but I think this is topic for seperate note. Either way- I received my small package this Friday. It was very light, so before opening, I was afraid, that they made mistake and sent me something else, hahaha.

I literally ripped grey foil, that my dress was packed onto, and saw...elks.

Dark, spooky, elks, crowded, waiting to eat your soul....errr. Yes, this is why I bought this dress- because IMO it's very spooky! I even gave this print my own name; 'satanic elks', so yeah, prolly gonna wear it on Halloween! (Can't stop thinking about this holiday- love it so much!) Mwahahaha! Review? Oh yes, let's continue with that. So the print is lovely. Yet there are two small flaws. First one is that it's bit blurry on bottom, but for me it dosn't really matter that much. When the jsk is worn, this is not noticible.

Second flaw is unmatching print on the sides. 

Still, it happens very often in printed lolita dresses and skirts. Even big companies, as BtSSB have problem with that. See for example Eriko's post about Loiseau Bleu (post is in Polish but scroll down for pics)

Top of JSK is covered with branches and leafs, which are mirrored.

Straps are quite thick but it makes the dress very comfortable.

Invisible zipper is hidden on right side.

Dress has a shirring on the back (which I always forget to take a picture of, hahaha!).

This saves me, cuz recently I lost some weigh and...I think I should have purchased one size smaller. 

No waist ties, thank god for that, I have to many in my 'box of things I do not use' (I mentioned I do not like them, right?)

JSK is finished with black chiffon and lace.

Bottom has second layer, made of cotton or something that looks like one.

If we're at fabric- this dress is quite interesting. I think Infanta is experimenting a bit. Swan Love JSK, that I got earlier this year, was made of Jaquard (which happend to be so-so in the end...heavy and easy to damage!) and this one is made of I've no idea what. I suspect it's some sort of mixed fabric- light as chiffon but slightly shiny. Still very nice and almost perfect for Scottish summer :)

 Additionally I got a bow, that may be attached to dress.

I think it was made on rush, because I have never seen so many sticking threads from something as small. Whoops. 

Let's sum things up. I was all hyped for this dress, prepared 100$ for it. I paid 79$, including shipping. yay, I have ordered by Glitzy Wonderland, as I usually do when it comes to Intanta's items. Also because this JSK apperaed on their web page almost right after it was released on Infanta's Taobao store. Service was good and fast, as always. 

Dress is very nice. Cut is quite basic, but I was afer somehing simplier and more mature this time.

I am very satisfied with this purchase.

My coffee time by Lady Sloth

Lady Sloth is one of my fav lolita brands. I could write hundreds of words on how I love it and why but let's just say that their designs, quality and prices are superb!
Today I am making mini review of one of their newest creations- My coffee time JSK in color mint and made of chiffon. There is also cotton version of this available.

This specific dress was produced in colaboration with Antygea. It's also worth mentioning, that is the same artist, that's behing Miranda series (more gothic option from LS) and doll series, that's gonna be released sometime soon. 

So anyway, I have made my order for this lovely piece on 25th of May. On 27th of June I got information, that dress is ready for shipping. Got it about two weeks later, cuz I requested it to be sent to my parents addy, in Poland, who were preparing package for me. That way I saved some monies on shipping. But it's also the reason why I cannot show you original packaging.
So, how does it look in real life? What is my impression? Well....IT'S AMAZING! And yes, this part requires "caps lock" button, hahaha. When I saw it, I was overhelmed with beautiful shade of mint. So vivid, so pretty. Details of print took breath away. Here is my favourite part, a mouse playing with sugar cubes.

 Brand name, located on dress, is very  subtle. I may not be a fan of font chosen to mark colaboration with Antygea, but I asume she's using it everywhere and it's like her trademark.

 Lace is also very cute. Small ribbons, as pictured.

Bows are decorated with coffee beans. I haven't seen anything like this before, but love the idea.

Invisible zipper is on right side. I kind of prefer the ones that are slightly bigger (like the ones that AP is using) but that's just  my taste.

Because printed chiffon is very delicate and thin, dress has a second layer in while colour. It works okay, if you wear light underwear. If you will wear, let's say black bloomers and bra..well...it might be visible.

There is shirring on the back of dress, you can easly adjust your dress to your figure.

Same goes for waist ties. They were obviously part of the set and just as described on product page. I've also received very cute hairclip marching the dress

and additionaly a beret. Isin't it extra cute? 

I tried to find some flaws, to not write only good things. to not be all 'oh' and 'ah' with love, but...besides only three (literally!) threads, sticking from the second layer of JSK, I could find, guess what, nothing. Overall, my item was just as I imagined it to be, if not better. Lady Sloth never dissapoints me, so it's well invested monies. I honestly love 'My Coffee Time series and am extremly happy with my purchase. Also gonna make a proper coord very soon, so stay tuned. BL Shoes s506 and comic

My lost Bodyline package was finally found and dalivered. I will review it's contents today, which is Bodyline shoes s506.

This model is relatively new product, I haven't seen too many people who own it. The reason may be also cuz at the begining of sale of this product, there was drama about a girl, who received product with some serious faults.
Still, I took a risk and bought shoes, cuz I really like their design. Was it a good or bad choice? Let's see. First of all; the price. These were kinda cheap. I paid 30$ with shipping. Some time ago they cost 69,99$ but as you prolly know- mr Yan changes the prices on a whim.
I have choosen colour black, since it's most universal one, but as you can see on pic above- there are 3 other colours available.

This is not arrival, so no pics of package itself, but I received my item not in a box but wrapped onto bubble foil and with foam stuffed inside shoes. 

I've ordered size 245 which usually matches EU39/UK6 and it's exacly what it should be. Shoes fit me very well, they're not to small, not too big. 

Okie dokie, time for my real life photos. 

First of all- the ecologic leather used in this model is soft and rather delicate.

I'd say that maybe a little bit too delicate, since I haven't had the chance to wear these shoes yet and I can already see white scratches in few places, made probably while manufacturing.  

I'm not a big fan of press-studs so I was very happy to discover that this model has zipper on side. Hello comfort of puting shoes on and off.

Front bows are nice, but slightly crooked and have different sizes(randomly, I doubt it's supposed to be like that!) but it's hardly noticable when shoes are on legs and even more when one is moving around.

 Now, heart buckles are one of the cutest things in this model! I adore them so much *_*

Heels are more or less 4 cm high, not too big, not to small for me. (I'd say they're perfect. My feet does not feel sore with that high at all)

Unfortunatelly, as mentioned above, I haven't had chance to 'test' these shoes outside yet. But soon, soon. Yet my first impression of this model is rather positive. They're very nice visually. They're (surprisingly!) properly profiled (which I wouldn't say about rest of my BL shoes...).

I am happy with this purchase.

I'd like to reccomend you an awesome artist, who is known under the name Storm Neverland. Recently she has decided to make a series of lolita related comic strips, showing community's hillarious momments. I had pleasure to be a part of one of the chapters!

GLP Artbook by ricorico

I am a graphic, as much as I like to make my own creations, I also like to read and watch other people works. They inspire me, make me keep going in artistic way. And since my lolita addiction got quite serious lately, I wanted to try getting something that could connect my love for drawing and the fashion. Thus I was looking for publications on these topics put together. I have found "Gothic Lolita Punk" by ricorico. I didn't see any reviews of this artbook earlier. Just basic information, few really bad pictures, mainly of cover and what ye can get as sample pages at Amazon. Yet I took a risk and ordered it, since I found it really cheaply second hand. It arrived after few weeks of waiting. I almost forgot about it. But when I finally got GLP into my hands I was positevely surprised. On 178 full color B5 (a typical doujishi size?) pages I have found short introduction to Gothic Lolita & street fashion (including an interview with DJ SiSeN who is more of an alternative fashion representative) and profiles of 10 Japanesse artists who are well known for their graphic and photographic works inspired by Gothic Lolita and similiar:

Each of authors got about 14-16 pages where he/she introduces some of the finished works (majority of these were published in various magazines and brochures) and process of making art. I really like the way it was all prepared. Ofcourse, each artist have individual style and I cannot say all of them got in line with my taste (I am not a fan of Aguru Mukai & Tokyo Alice works. Especially Tokyo Alice- I am under impression she just dosn't know the basics of anatomy, composition and colour mixing, even tho she graduated from art university...). At the end of the book we have a small Glossary, once again a very short notes about each of artists and aknowledgements. Clean and simple. And that's it, guys.

Book is surprisingly good, shows different views on topic of both graphics and fashion. I enjoyed reading and browsing thru it. It's very nicely published. I give it strong 7 out of 10. Recomended.
